By Jordan CampbellSuper Perils of Baking caught me off guard in a great way. For the low price point, you have a detailed and content-rich 2D platformer which possesses enough nostalgic zest to keep us older gamers happy whilst giving casual newcomers a solid and varied entry to the platforming genre.
Hey Poor Player
By Cory ClarkIt’s a real shame that I couldn’t find much to enjoy here, since there’s a good amount of potential here, but you’d think with such a fun theme and the mechanics at play, there’d be so much more life in this game. Maybe I went in with too high of expectations, maybe I wasn’t the target audience, but between the monotonous music that I eventually muted and the gameplay loop that tires itself out long before the cake’s done cooking, I really want to like this game more, but, to be honest, I can’t say I’m thrilled about playing this anymore. If you’ve played Super Mario and Donkey Kong, you’ve been here before. If you don’t mind that and just want some solid platforming to kill five or so hours, it’s harmless enough that I’d say go for it if it’s on sale. But otherwise, it’s reshades of the same thing, and this game doesn’t dare to tread much farther than those before it.

By Justin OneilSuper Perils of Baking is a fun and family-friendly 2D platformer that can provide hours of enjoyment. It doesn’t do anything new really but it borrows ideas from many platformer greats to create a fun experience of its own. Even if you played the original game back in 2018, I recommend playing this one too as the team did a great job improving the look and adding enough new content to sink your teeth into.

By Richard SeagraveWhile Super Perils of Baking can feel a tad too generic at times, then, is has to lot to offer for its modest price. It evokes the spirit of 90s platformers that were never as popular as the big hitters – games like Zool, Cool Spot and Boogerman. And so for those who yearn for a new platforming experience that relishes in that old-school feel, it’ll go down a storm. Perhaps the worst thing about it is its soundtrack, but that can be easily remedied. Ultimately, it will never be remembered as a classic, but Super Perils of Baking can at least remind you of the golden days of the genre.
