Adventure Lamp (2016)
Ryan Davis
A cave-in has separated Simon, the highly prepared archaeologist, from his equipment. With nothing but a head lamp and his wits, Simon would very much like to stay alive long enough to return his notes to The Academy for study.

By Alex Santa MariaNothing in Adventure Lamp is going to blow you away, but this is a relaxing platforming adventure that is well worth a few hours of your time.

By Thom ComptonAdventure Lamp isn't bad, it's just not adding anything of value to the genre. With wildly inconsistent difficulty, throwaway mechanics, and a lack of anything to lose, failure really doesn't feel personal. That's because it doesn't have enough payoff from overcoming its trials to really feel like you accomplished anything. That being said, it's still a fun game, and one that should not be overlooked. Just be careful where your expectations are set.

By Stephen TordoffOverall, Adventure Lamp is an excellent puzzle platformer. It is a charming experience, and its short length does not detract from the fact that the game is well-crafted. Each level feels unique, and there is a good variety in the 150 or so in the game. Though I would have liked to see some more challenging levels, and there are occasional technical hiccups, it is easy to recommend Adventure Lamp as the core ideas are strong and well implemented.
