Dave the Diver is an action-adventure and management simulation game developed by Mintrocket. In the game, players control Dave, who spends his days diving into underwater environments to catch fish and gather resources, and his nights managing a sushi restaurant. The gameplay combines real-time underwater exploration and combat with restaurant management mechanics.
About the story
Former arms dealer Cobra discovers that every time he enters the Blue Hole, the ecology and terrain change, presenting a lucrative opportunity. He convinces the ever-optimistic Dave (the playable protagonist) and Bancho, a sushi chef specializing in rare sea creatures, to open a sushi restaurant nearby. While investigating the interior of the Blue Hole at the request of archaeologist Bacon, Dave finds that the descendants of ancient Sea People—who still live in the deep—are under threat. Realizing that this could be catastrophic not only for the hidden village but for the Earth itself, Dave dives deeper in search of a solution.

By Michael TausendpfundDave the Diver is a rare example of a game that simply brings pure joy. It's creative, surprising, and generous with its content, yet never overwhelming or stressful. The blend of relaxed exploration, tactical hunting, management challenges, and charming storytelling works in a way you'd never have thought possible. It's the perfect game for anyone looking for something fresh and unconventional that will leave them with a smile on their face and the urge to dive again. An absolute highlight that proves innovation and fun don't require multi-million dollar budgets, but above all, creativity, passion, and the courage to try something new.

By Corey LyleOl' Dave has captured hearts and minds with his debut game in Dave the Diver. But seriously, this was a fantastic game from start to finish. Don’t get me wrong, there is a lot that is happening, either in the background or you having to deal with it directly, but I found the experience more enjoyable than not. A tried and tested game made its way to Xbox and the same greatness shows over here. Plays well anywhere and fun for all ages. Well worth a dive!

By Jordan CampbellDave the Diver is one of my favourite indie titles of all time. If you haven’t played it yet and you’re on the fence, I say just buy it with no hesitation. Part of me is extremely jealous of anyone who plays this for the first time, as it is fantastic. There aren’t many indie games I’ve played through multiple times, but this one is an exception. With Xbox Play Anywhere functionality, I’ve managed to play this on my Xbox Series X, gaming laptop and Lenovo Legion Go. The game is polished and well-presented across all devices, with no visual hiccups. With plenty of content, including two free DLC packs, it’ll keep you busy for anything between 25-50 hours, depending on whether you want to achieve everything on offer. You can purchase a copy of Dave the Diver for Xbox HERE.

By Ignacio OrtigosaNo wonder the developers had to calm things down by saying they're not indie.

By Jesse NorrisDave the Diver is an excellent, enormous title that is best left as vague as possible. Go in without looking too deeply into it and be ready for dozens of hours of some of the best that video gaming has to offer.
