A Plague Tale: Innocence is a third-person action-adventure game set in 14th-century France during the Black Death. Players control Amicia, a young girl protecting her little brother Hugo as they flee the Inquisition and navigate environments overrun by swarms of plague rats. Gameplay combines stealth, puzzle-solving, and light combat, with an emphasis on using fire and light to manage the rat hordes.
About the story
In 1348 Aquitaine, during the Hundred Years' War, young Amicia de Rune lives a sheltered life on her family's estate, largely separated from her younger brother Hugo, who suffers from a mysterious blood disease. When soldiers of the French Inquisition attack their home and kill their parents, Amicia must flee with Hugo into a countryside devastated by war and overrun by supernatural swarms of plague rats. Alone and hunted, the siblings must rely on each other and a handful of orphaned allies to survive, while Amicia begins to realize that the Inquisition's interest in Hugo may be connected to something far darker than the plague itself.

Gaming Professors
By Adam KaprálA linear adventure through medieval France A Plague Tale: Innocence will satisfy those who fancy a singleplayer game with an emphasis on story. In roughly twelve hours, you'll enjoy a captivating atmosphere, excellent dubbing and hilarious stealth. Minuses in the form of flaws in the graphics and occasionally simple gameplay don't detract much from the overall impression of the game. This straightforward adventure comes on the heels of titles with a huge open world and proves that even linear games can draw you in and amaze you.

By Toby MortaroA Plague Tale: Innocence sees you playing as Amicia running through the plagued streets of France with your brother Hugo. Set in the 1300’s, you’re running from soldiers of the inquisition and the terrifying hordes of rats that are ravaging the streets. There are a few different themes that run throughout: at the forefront of the story you’re surrounded by death and decay which is something you will quickly get used to seeing.

By Alex OronaIt kept me from enjoying the game that much sooner. Chalk it up to impatience but if you have another way to try this game, you should. It's worth the time; I'm just not sure if it's worth the Switch edition.
