Wuchang: Fallen Feathers starts as just another Soulslike, but quickly reveals itself to be so much more. A rewarding journey through a rich world with brilliantly designed levels. Don't miss it.

I really enjoyed Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. As far as Souls-likes go, it's nothing especially revolutionary, and it was a tad on the easy side for this sort of thing (Maybe I've finally gotten gud?), but I had a great time with it.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers introduces you to a beautiful new world that is very connected and full of life, with every location being more beautiful than the last. Combined with unique combat mechanics and deep build potential, a lot is going for this game. Unfortunately, the positives are weighed down by some bad level designs and gameplay that force you into specific build styles at certain points to progress. This is only made up for slightly by good exploration and interesting NPC questlines.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers stands out for its gameplay, a world rich in history, and a great setting inspired by Chinese culture. While the game may feel like another copy of the genre—due to its lack of drastically innovative nature—it offers an addictive combat experience with a large number of options. This contrasts with its narrative and some unpolished movement mechanics. Despite this, Lenzee's title is an experience worth experiencing, especially since it's part of the Xbox Game Pass catalog.

It seems like a wave of Chinese Soulslike-inspired games is flooding the market, and Wuchang is one of them. Much like Wukong, it’s been surrounded by plenty of buzz and controversy.
