Critic Reviews
Cat with Monocle
By Natalie BostelmanFor those looking to continue the story of Valkyria Chronicles with greater challenges, definitely pick up Valkyria Chronicles 4. It has the gorgeous watercolor graphics you love, along with improved gameplay mechanics. That said, the story is quite heavy, and you may find yourself a little confused if you’re new to the series. Still, Europa’s future depends on you. Squad E, move out!
PSX Extreme
By Alex MorettiWhen alls said and done VC4 is a behemoth of a game with insane replay value, and a great cast of characters. Here’s hoping the next entry can wow us all over again.
Thumb Culture
By Thumb CultureFantastic, in-depth, great attention to details, and hidden gems makes Valkyria Chronicles 4 incredible. It is something I look forward to playing well beyond the release of this review. It doesn’t happen very often but I could not wait to keep playing

By Arash ParsapourValkyria Chronicles 4 has a major benefit that is understandable even for whom never played the series before; there are new elements in gameplay which makes it a better game than the remastered version of the first title.
Killa Penguin
By Jake AriasValkyria Chronicles 4 is a game that tries to embrace its past while also taking a step into the future, and it fails spectacularly on both fronts. The story is incoherent, the characters are developed poorly, and the gameplay's constant gimmickry and penchant for not telling you the rules quickly becomes fatiguing. That's not even getting into the unskippable cutscenes and numerous technical shortcomings, either. The original Valkyria Chronicles is a classic, but it was clearly the beneficiary of beginner's luck that's depleted in the decade since.
