By A.J. MaciejewskiRainbow Moon may not be for everyone but those who really get into it will love it a lot so I definitely recommend it to anyone who has an affinity for slow-paced SRPG adventures and doesn't mind grinding in order to unlock their full potential. 🌝
Rectify Gaming
By Rectify GamingRainbow Moon for the Nintendo Switch is a solid addition to the RPG genre, with a unique battle system and engaging story. While it may not be a completely “definitive” experience, it offers a unique battle system, engaging story, and beautiful visuals. The “added balance customization features” may not be revolutionary, but they do offer some new ways for players to customize their characters and approach combat. Overall, Rainbow Moon is a great addition to the Nintendo Switch’s lineup of RPGs.
The Switch Effect
By Richard HeatonRainbow Moon is a perfect example of an old-school RPG that deserves to be played on the Switch. It’s a really solid game but the combination of price and content puts it over the edge.
Worth Playing
By Chris "Atom" DeAngelusRainbow Moon is a good game buried under tedium. It has a lot of fundamental strengths that lack an engaging push to keep you going. For a budget downloadable offering, it's absurdly long and packed with content, and the fundamental combat system is fun. Had the developers toned down the grinding and added more substance to the story, Rainbow Moon would've been an easy recommendation. Instead, it's a game for those who are fond of grinding out levels and skills. Anyone who's looking for a fast-paced or engaging story will be sorely disappointed. At the budget price of $14.99, there's plenty of reason to give it a shot, but don't be surprised if you can't drag yourself across the finish line.
Gamers FTW
By Daniel VaughanRainbow Moon is a pretty standard RPG with a lot of grinding required. It does have its flaws like it's Initially slow to get going, plus levelling up can be a slog but at the same time it shows a lot of promise with some interesting mechanics, enjoyable exploration and satisfying combat. If you're after an enticing, epic story then you better off looking elsewhere, but if you're interested in being pitted against tough enemies and lots of exploration in a bright vibrant world then this is worth a look
