Sometimes it’s not about the history. It’s about the story. My Memory of Us is a reminiscence of a friendship between a boy and a girl. A friendship made during tough times. Times of terror, pain, and exclusion in a world where people were forced to live in two artificially detached worlds.
About the story
Do you like stories? If so, then I’ll tell you one. But it won’t be just any old story. It’s going to be different, because it’s about real people, about events that are touching and horrifying even now. Let’s go back in time. It all began with a meeting between a boy and a girl who came from two different worlds. For a short time they had good laughs together, taking joy simply from each other’s company. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. War broke out – the Evil King plundered the city and his robot-soldiers appeared everywhere. Citizens were separated and some of them were marked and forced to move out of their homes and live in a place that was sealed off from the rest of the city by a huge wall. Fortunately the children were not alone – they had each other. Their friendship allowed them to stay together, even though fate seemed to try to tear them apart. That’s the story behind My Memory of Us, a game dedicated to those that were separated, but managed to find the strength to meet each other again.

Critic Reviews
Nintendo Life
By Nathanial EkerOverall, My Memory of Us is a solid platformer with decent puzzles, most of which are tied to the plot. It has great sound design (including exceptional celebrity voiceover work), but its main criticism is the sometimes-jarring tonal inconsistencies between creating a tangible threat from the mind of a child and the true horrors on which it is based. That said, the good absolutely outweighs the bad and the majority of the game is a delight to play through.
Gaming Professors
By Nikola ErlebachováIt is a very cool piece, which at first glance is slightly deceiving with its innocent appearance. The difficulty of logic riddles and puzzles is balanced, so solving them will not take you long. In terms of graphics, the game looks great and the overall atmosphere will force you to fully relate to the characters. What needs to be highlighted is the story itself showing the strong bond between the two characters persisting through all the hardships and dangers. The finale is so emotionally charged that you simply have to burst into tears. My Memory of Us is a shorter title that you can get through in one afternoon, it's definitely worth the time.

By Neil BasonMy Memory of Us is a thoroughly rewarding game from various angles. The narrative is engrossing and touching, the gameplay is challenging and engaging, and the artistic style is glorious yet understated. It tackles a difficult subject but does so with care and the end result is a game that only further enhances the already deeply impressive Nintendo Switch catalogue.

By Tiago MarafonaMy Memory of Us brings the players into a different experience, with its sombre environments and unusual story-telling. Thanks to its accessible gameplay it never gets too difficult to advance, which might be disappointing for players looking for something more complex but the game's original premise and concept make this a title that stands out amidst other indie games in the Nintendo Switch catalogue.
