Light Fingers (2018)

Light Fingers is a fun and colorful digital board game on Nintendo Switch that is more enjoyable with a full group of four playing the game, trying to do as much damage as possible during dungeons as you all try to secure enough loot to be the victor. The game is better now than it was at launch, so here's hoping that the team at Numizmatic continue to work on extra content!

Light Fingers fills a gap in the Switch's library, offering a charming and exclusive indie couch co-op game. With a bit of word of mouth, it has the potential to become a sleeper hit.

Numizmatic has delivered a good entry into this genre with Light Fingers. They’ve managed to hit a sweet spot for a more medium-core digital table top game focused on local multiplayer, but I can’t help but feel there was a strong missed opportunity for a solo mode in the Board Campaign. Beyond that, the game has some areas that could use additional polish or more depth, but the Nintendo Switch is the perfect system for what they have created.

In the end if you’re looking for a unique experience to share with some family or friends the primary board game mode in Light Fingers is refreshingly different and looks incredible as a whole. The control shortcomings are a frustration, especially if you can only play by yourself, but as long as everyone is roughly on the same page at least it’s generally fair. While it may not have nailed down everything perfectly there’s enough to discover and enjoy that it’s worth checking out to enjoy with some friends.

Thankfully, that local multiplayer is great, whether you have two, three, or four people to play. Even with less players, the involvement of the guards when wanted levels rise helps keep the board more perilous and populated. The board game segments are the draw of Light Fingers, and as long as you don't venture off that path, you'll likely have a fantastic time.
