Overall, Party Golf proved my first thoughts and impression of the game wrong. It has a fantastic idea of what a couch play title should bring – fun, finesse, flamboyance, mixed with pick up and play controls, top notice gameplay, and a conversation starter. A joy to behold and a pleasure to play, this game will have you coming back for more, inviting your friends round again and again.

At first glance, a game that might be fun for an hour or so, you’ll be surprised by the hidden depths of Party Golf. With more customisations that you can shake a stick at, you’d find it very difficult to get bored with this game, and played with friends its certainly one of the best party games available on the Xbox One.

Party Golf has loads of modes to keep you busy, and offers loads of fun to bring you back. Gather some friends together and you'll have a bundle of fun, but it's also good fun playing against some CPUs. It's perhaps forgiven at not having some kind of story mode by the sheer depth of modes available - pick it up. I'm sure you'll have fun too.

As a single player experience, Party Golf makes for a tougher recommendation, the overly simplistic gameplay wearing thin quickly and its trials not offering enough to hold your attention. If you’re looking for a simple, pick up and play, frantic multiplayer game though, then Party Golf should offer enough laughs to keep you and your group entertained. With an insane number of customisable options and the ability to share the fun with up to eight players, Giant Margarita’s take on the golfing genre is a unique one, if somewhat simple.

Ultimately this is a game that lives or dies on the willingness of the people who are playing to give in to the simplicity and embrace all of the crazy modes that it offers. If you’ve got a rowdy group of people who are on board there are some great laughs to be had with Party Golf, probably even for people who don’t consider themselves very skilled at games since so many of the modes have a certain element of chaos inherent in them. If, on the other hand, our crew isn’t buying the base experience it won’t matter how many modes you bring to the table, it just isn’t going to happen. If you think you can play with the right people there’s a lot of diverse fun to be had in this package though!
