Black The Fall is an atmospheric side-scrolling shooter with puzzle solving elements. An odd and unexpected black and white dream inspired by a childhood passed behind the Iron Curtain. Discover an industrialized long lost world living in the shadow of the totalitarian state. Everyone should be regarded as a potential enemy, an informer, a criminal. Amnesic and unaware of circumstances which brought you into this place, you begin your journey which should reveal the mystery. Moving through a peculiar world you'll have to kill in order to survive, to solve different puzzles and to learn when to be brave and when to hide. An early-access version of the game was released on Steam in June of 2014, as well as campaign through Kickstarter in the same year.

By OfisilBlack the Fall is... okay. Not the worst atmospheric puzzle-adventure out there, but also very far from the top steps of the podium. A strong, oppressive atmosphere can get you places, but a game of this kind still needs a good plot, and some gameplay mechanics that are more than decent.
FNintendo
By Vitor CarvalhoThe puzzles are interesting and the game features an art style that looks good in the player's eyes, while at the same time its lifespan feels too short and has nothing to offer beyond the main objectives.

By Mark JansenBlack The Fall is a decent way to spend a few hours, with good puzzles, fun world-building, and great design that's all let down by a lack of any real depth.
Nindie Spotlight
By Nindie SpotlightOverall, Black the Fall is a pretty good ride with a bit of a story to tell, though without words and dialogue the interpretation of that story falls on you. Throughout the few hours I played it I was consistently challenged and periodically take aback by some of the clever solutions that could be reached through a bit of experimentation. Cognizant of how difficult the game is and how often you’ll die the fact that you rarely get backtracked much is a relief and much appreciated. If you’re looking for something a bit different, and maybe a little aggravating, it will provide several hours of head-scratching entertainment.

By David LloydThe whole experience ended up being a few hours long. The likelihood is that this is a one--and-done playthrough, as once you've figured out the puzzles there really isn't a reason to play again unless you'd like to go back and look for clues to figure out the back story. I wouldn't say it's the best puzzle-platform title available, but it's unique and was worth the short time investment.
