Blood, tears, non-sexual moans, inappropriate laughter, and tons of puzzles that will literally blow your brains out... This is Zombie Night Terror!

About the story

Prepare yourself for the most thrilling night of your life! Something strange has happened and people everywhere are turning into blood thirsty walking corpses. But guess who’s the brains behind this hungry undead army? You! So spread this pandemic to wipe humanity off this planet. Because the only way to survive the zombie apocalypse, is to be the apocalypse! But the brainless undead are quite dumb… even dumber than you might expect given their lack of grey matter. Because when left to their own devises, they will just endlessly walk forward and fall into permanently deadly booby traps placed by not-so-helpless humans. So to accomplish your mission of world extermination, you will need to help guide them to their next yummy meal. Luckily you can utilize numerous special mutations to make your troops evolve and fulfill their appetite for flesh. But beware! Humans will not facilitate your dark will….they will fight to survive. Spread terror through 40 levels and enroll more zombies into your undead army. Along the way you’ll have to solve brain tingling puzzles, and fight increasingly powerful foes that are hell-bent on staying alive. The closer you get to total world extinction, the harder survivors will fight to put you in the ground….for good.

If you've been following my last few reviews, you know that I've had a run of games I wasn't crazy about. I had to actively avoid the urge to rate a game highly, even if it didn't deserve it - to prove to the universe I'm not just some sour bastard devouring free games and pooping out bad reviews. That said, I'm pretty happy with Zombie Night Terror. It has pretty much everything you want in a $13 Lemmings type game. The controls are easy to figure out without a manual, great pixel animation (especially when the zombies get shot), ever increasing complexity and growing toolsets, and as of this writing, bug free fun.

Zombie Night Terror mixes the tired undead genre with the puzzle gameplay of the Lemming series, oddly enough. It works for the most part but the game is too difficult and obtuse for its own good. There is an enjoyable puzzler here, just expect to deal with some trial and error frustration along the way.

Zombie Night Terror, a STEAM title developed by NoClip, is a unique combination of humor, strategy, and the mindless walking dead. To say they are mindless is not an understatement, as these zombies are really something stupid. The player controls the zombie outbreak in an effort to wipe humanity off the face of the planet. Managing a zombie apocalypse to terminate humanity is a challenging escapade, but spreading the pandemic is half the fun.

For the price, Zombie Night Terror is a fine way to spend a weekend or more.
