Synapse (2023)

The most important thing with a VR game like this (and really, any game in general) is how fun it ends up being, and Synapse is a freaking blast. I enjoyed everything about this game, and it is another must-have title on the PS VR2, and yet another fantastic game that makes me glad I was an early adopter of the headset. If you have a PS VR2, get Synapse on the Playstation Store for $35 and thank me later.

Synapse is a VR action game that offers an intriguing concept and a story that combines Heart of Darkness with Inception. The result is not bad, but it doesn't achieve the promised revolution in the genre. The game lags primarily in the area of variability, which is crucial for roguelite games.

It is a game with an amazing foundation, an excellent usage of the PSVR2’s features, and really fun gameplay, and it leave me wanting more. It was all too brief. I am definitely looking forward to whatever nDreams decides to do in the feature, and I absolutely recommend grabbing Synapse up as one of the must-have titles on the PSVR2’s evergrowing and ever impressive library.

Synapse is visually striking and fun to play, a standout in the PSVR2 library. nDreams has packed Control-like action into the Sony headset, making for an exciting game. The repetitive action might bother some, but it remains one of the best PSVR2 experiences, especially at its well-calibrated price.
