Over 20 years after the release of the original, its creators seem to either ignore or simply don't want to use techniques and ideas that have proven successful in the interim, essentially making the whole process boring.

Flashback 2 is a pleasant surprise for the end of 2023. Admittedly, the game is far from perfect, especially in terms of gameplay. However, if we take a step back and accept that it won't be the game of the year, we can still enjoy it. It's all a question of managing our expectations. The cyberpunk ambience is successful and the story is well-crafted. You'll need 6-10 hours to complete Flashback 2. On that note, a few technical bugs that were preventing me from progressing were fixed on November 19 with a patch. As a result, I was able to finish the game on my own, and it took me around 9 hours to complete.

Flashback 2 is a complete mess and it's a real shame, as its predecessor is still fondly remembered by a lot of players. We will probably never know the reasons behind such a failure, but, having spent too much time on the game, what we can do is recommending you to avoid buying it in its current state.

A complete disaster - a game in which everything is done poorly and which is almost impossible to fix with patches.

It's an abysmal end, resulting in a controversial sequel, leaving fans of 1992's rad Flashback most likely preferring to return to Conrad's previous amnesia in the original's plot to forget that Flashback 2 ever existed.
