Build and manage your tavern, satisfy the wandering hearts and bellies of sinners and sojourners, and, most importantly, send them out throughout the land to make known your fame, near and far. But all of this is merely your first step, as you soon attract the attention of serious political and military forces and slowly become a part of a ruthless race for power. Dare to defy your own fate in an epic campaign or lose yourself in an endless open-world mode. Build your very own tavern, hire and oversee staff, manage your supply chain and specialize your services, research new recipes and encounter a host of unconventional characters. Be smart, be resourceful, and plan ten moves ahead to become the most renowned innkeeper in the realm and one day, as sure as the rising of the sun, you will rise above your station and those who once jeered will look on in wonder.

Hey Poor Player

I don’t know what happened with Crossroads Inn. I don’t know why, in the 3 years that have passed since the original release on PC, Crossroads Inn is still a confusing, buggy mess. I don’t know who thought Crossroads Inn was ready for the extremely small Switch screen in its current state. I typically pride myself in being a reviewer that can see the positive in any game and find the audience a title was made for, but when it comes to Crossroads Inn, I find I’m at a loss. If you must get this game, try it out on PC first to get a better feel for the controls and UI; if you only have a Switch, I can’t in good conscience recommend this game to you.

‎It's a shame that this good idea is, at the moment, full of bugs that undermine the gaming experience. The soul of the title is excellent and very original, only perhaps The Sims Medieval raised something a bit similar at the time, so if ‎‎the developers of Kraken Unleashed‎‎ manage to polish a little more some details and vary some features, this could be a reference game for a subcategory within the business management and life simulation productions.‎

At its current state, Crossroads Inn is a niche project plagued with technical difficulties, spoiling the good impression from the game. It can be a lot of fun when it is working as intended but at the same time annoying when it does not. The game could have benefited from a lengthy Early Access/testing stage.

Crossroads Inn might not be the first medieval sim (that honor probably goes to 2011’s The Sims Medieval) and there are quite a few castle builders out there as well, but as a narrowly focused genre blend of builder and sim, Crossroads Inn stakes out some specific territory.
