By Andrew O'DonnellAre the complaints reason enough to avoid Wildfrost though? Nah, it’s really great. Yes, it will occasionally kick you in the shins, and like all games of this type, it’s charms will last about as long as it takes for you to ‘solve’ the game and beat it. Developers Deadpan Games and Gaziter have put together all the right ingredients for a stellar roguelike-deck-building experience, and if you’re a fan of the genre or interested in seeing what the fuss is about then Wildfrost is certainly worth a look. It’s pretty cool (ICE JOKE!)
The Punished Backlog
By Bella YaegerWildfrost is definitely worth investing in if you enjoy deck-building games. However, I wouldn't recommend it for those unfamiliar with the genre. It's too difficult for inexperienced players and could ruin a newcomer's interest. However, if you are looking for a challenging card game, Wildfrost is the perfect candidate for you. There's a lot to love about this game, and I hope that it gains popularity outside of just the deck-building community.
FingerGuns
By Joshua ThompsonSleek presentation and engrossingly deep gameplay makes Wildfrost a distinctive roguelike deckbuilder. It’s a brutal learning curve that might snow you in, but if you persevere and learn you’ll have an overall great time with the game.
Expansive
By Sam DiglettWildfrost takes two of the most popular genres in gaming and mashes them into something quite different and mostly enjoyable. There’s a tough difficulty curve here, plus accessibility doesn’t appear to have been the game’s highest priority and there’s a few control issues on Switch, but what you have is a fast-paced, progress-centered battler that you’ll come to appreciate, maybe even love, the more time you spend with it.
Rapid Reviews UK
By Joseph BarroodWildfrost is a rogue-lite deck builder about trying to save a city from an eternal winter. In the game, I had to select between different cards to add to my deck while trying to take out enemies and survive the frigid climate. Did the adventure warm my heart? Find out in this Rapid Review.
