Critic Reviews
Nintendo Times
By Alex KnightIf you’re up for a slick local play arena shooter for your Switch, Varion comes to the table with prominent visuals and easy controls. However the core game mechanic of ricochet-only kills will definitely turn off some players, as it feels more luck-based than skill.
Nintendo Enthusiast
By Andrew RockettWhile it is hard to recommend Varion over the rest of the Switch's fastly-improving local multiplayer catalog, you could certainly do much, much worse.
Nindie Spotlight
By Nindie SpotlightIf the typical local multiplayer shooting fare has seemed to get a being tired and dull I’d tend to agree, the genre has been in a bit of a cookie cutter rut on the whole for a while. Varion is a breath of fresh air and not only looks pretty fantastic, it also changes up just enough to help it stand out in the gameplay department as well. So the next time you’re searching for something a bit different to play against some friends when you get together it’s well worth a look.
