She decides to go up to the land together with the merman "Mer" as her guard. On the land, Princess Takorita meets the humans Dino and Ina. The culture differences greatly surprise the princess. Then, finally, she has her fated encounter with the "french fries".🍟🍟🍟 ...Is that all? No, that's not all! French fries might look simple, but there's more to it. Princess Takorita continues her adventure to make the fries more and more tasty! Her journey is far from over. Even finding her long-lost grandfather is only a small part of her adventure.

Critic Reviews

Takorita Meets Fries is a short pastime, with predictable and unvaried endings. The absence of an interesting script, low replayability and poorly worked art make it difficult to recommend. Perhaps it could be considered a children's book aimed at young children, but its style of humor rules out even that possibility. Despite its friendly atmosphere, I believe there are better titles to occupy your time on Switch.

It's too bad Takorita Meets Fries isn't good. As there are few hero quest stories with female protagonists, Takorita could've been great for a younger audience. Unfortunately, Takorita Meets Fries struggles with its identity and who the intended audience is supposed to be. The simplistic story, lack of gameplay, and cartoon artwork might appeal to a much younger crowd. But the crude humor takes away that option.

Takorita Meets Fries was a funny, silly, and overall brilliant experience that came at just the right time for me. It ticked all the right boxes and has easily become one of my favourite visual novels ever. I highly recommend playing it!

OK, so on the one hand I'll at least admit this visual novel is at least weird enough to maybe be of some mild interest...
