Star Wars Battlefront II is a first- and third-person shooter set across all three eras of the Star Wars saga. Players engage in large-scale ground and space battles using class-based soldiers, reinforcements, vehicles, and iconic heroes or villains from the franchise. Multiplayer modes span maps drawn from locations across the films, while a single-player campaign follows an original story set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The game launched in 2017 amid a major loot box controversy that led to the removal of microtransactions and a complete overhaul of its progression system, after which it received years of free content updates that substantially expanded its offerings.
About the story
Iden Versio commands Inferno Squad, an elite Imperial special forces unit, during the final days of the Galactic Empire. After witnessing the destruction of the Death Star at the Battle of Endor, Iden receives orders to carry out Operation: Cinder, the Emperor's posthumous command to devastate loyal Imperial worlds as punishment for his death. When the operation targets her own homeworld of Vardos, Iden and her squadmate Del Meeko refuse to stand by while civilians are slaughtered, abandoning the Empire and defecting to the Rebel Alliance. Now fighting alongside the New Republic, Iden must confront her former allies, including her own father and the vengeful Gideon Hask, as the war races toward its conclusion at the Battle of Jakku.

By Daniel MartinAnyone who's already a Star Wars Fan, is definitely going to be entertained by it. However, if one's leaves any elements aside that actually indicate the Star Wars franchise, what's left is solely a generic shooter - with admittedly stunning visuals - but a game that's offering nothing new.

By Nicole HallThe Star Wars Battlefront series has always been credible for it’s ability to somewhat ease the insatiable Star Wars void that sits inside fans of the iconic, sci-fi franchise. Come on fans, you have to admit that no matter how much you indulge in the series over a multitude of mediums, you always want more. This is where the Battlefront series shines. With it’s spectacular portrayal of Star Wars settings and events combined with trademark sounds of blaster rifles and Wookie cries, the Battlefront series definitely takes pride in it’s ability to moderate that galaxy sized void that sits inside you, regardless of who’s hands the game series sits in. It goes without saying that EA DICE’s sequel to Battlefront (2015), Battlefront 2 upholds that very same vibe the series is renowned for maintaining.
