Post Solis (2026)

Where certain narrative-heavy games strive to be “cinematic” – sometimes to their own detriment – Fort Solis aims lower: being a generic Netflix miniseries. To think of how Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games were afforded a modest production budget, alongside big-name voice talents, and all they could mustre was a shallow walk-a-thon that’s as meandering and stale as its script.

While it improves massively in the final act of the game - thanks to fantastic performances and a wrapping-up of the story that had me on the edge of my seat - there’s no denying that the opening hours of Fort Solis are tedious. Between slow progression and a lack of interactivity, Fort Solis seemingly does everything it can to put us off from reaching the finish line.

Fort Solis features beautiful visuals and impressive voice acting, making it a treat to experience. However, the game suffers from painfully slow walking speeds and frustrating backtracking. While the story has potential, it feels rushed and lacks urgency, especially towards the end. Overall, it’s an interesting attempt at storytelling, but it may not satisfy everyone looking for a traditional gaming experience.

Fort Solis offers players an intriguing story that builds tension perfectly right from the start, but before you know it, it’s all over. The game won’t take you more than four hours to complete, and that’s only because of the incredibly slow walking speed. However, all the actors and voice actors deliver incredible performances. I’d especially like to highlight the performance of one of the lead actors, Roger Clark, who plays Dr. Wyatt. The game’s optimization is still lacking, which is quite a shame. I definitely recommend playing this game, but wait until it goes on sale.
