Intruder in Antiquonia (2022)
Aruma Studios
In this classic point-and-click adventure, Sarah does not remember how she got to Antiquonia, but she has plenty of time to unravel the puzzle of her past as she explores the town where the Internet is not welcome. A beautiful adventure with high-resolution 2D graphics and a lovely soundtrack.
About the story
Sarah is found on the roadside that leads to Antiquonia by Karim, the town’s ambulance driver. Karim loves a good mystery and will be particularly interested in helping Sarah out to see where the rabbit hole leads. Karim reports the case to Julia, the police officer, who will be personally invested since her boss is not too excited about the case. As the story unfolds, Sarah will meet several characters with their own stories and motivations. Like Samuel, who used to own a bar and now takes care of the garden for the nuns of the convent. At some point Sarah will start putting together the puzzle of her past and the real challenge will start.

By Aaron MárquezIntruder In Antiquonia is, without a doubt, a perfect game to introduce you to its genre, having as great workhorses its interesting story and a scenario design that surprises. If, on the other hand, you are looking for complexity and a challenge at the level of other greats of the genre, you may be disappointed at first, although if you manage to avoid this first impression, you will discover a very interesting title.

By Elena KuaParental note: There’s a teeny bit of violence (blood but no gore), and I recall one use of profanity (in a nickname) but nothing to sweat about for teens and, possibly, older children. Overall, Intruder in Antiquonia is a pleasant game that works, but it could have offered so much more in the story/dialogue department. For that reason, it’s hard to recommend Antiquonia over other games in the point-and-click adventure genre.
