ByAside from that, Republic of Pirates is an enjoyable, if generally uninspired city builder and light-touch RTS. It’s pretty to look at, has a comfortable, laid-back vibe, and aside from wrestling with the controls, is an easy-playing experience that you can tune out to. It ticks all the boxes and leaves you wanting nothing, even if, after a few weeks of solid play, it will then be buried in the Steam list to gather virtual dust.

By Kurtis SeidAs far as a city builder, Republic of Pirates doesn’t reinvent or improve anything. It uses a lot of the same systems and rules from other proven games from the last decade. The main draw is the pirate theming and sailing aspect. If the idea of pirates and raiding appeals to you, you might want to try the Steam demo first. Then from there, decide if Republic of Pirates is worth the full price.

By Rexifirus NightshadeRepublic of Pirates is amazing and the level of detail along with the artwork for the characters and the story itself are quite unique and fun to explore. The characters have their own unique looks and vibes that just make the game more and more appealing. So go give it a try, it’s definitely worth it, especially if you like to manage cities and battle it out with other cutthroat pirates.
