Phasmophobia is a cooperative horror investigation game played from a first-person perspective, supporting one to four players. Players take on the role of ghost hunters who must identify the type of ghost haunting a designated location by gathering evidence using various paranormal investigation equipment. The game features speech recognition, allowing ghosts and certain equipment to respond to words spoken by players. As investigators spend time at the site, their sanity decreases, eventually triggering hunts during which the ghost actively pursues and can kill players. The game includes multiple location types of varying size, twenty-nine ghost types each with unique behaviors and evidence, and a progression system where players earn money to unlock and upgrade equipment. Virtual reality is optionally supported.

By Lou SytsmaIt is a testament to the game experience that players will get past the PSVR 2 issues and still go ghost hunting with Phasmophobia. If you love ghost busting and can tamper your expectations with the game’s polish, you are in for a great time.

By Terrence JohnsonThe game is made for replayability, if you like spooky games with your friends or if you have always wanted to hunt for ghost but don’t really want to leave the house, well have I got a game for you.

By Valerio TosettiDespite its many obvious technical limitations, Phasmophobia is highly recommended for those who love horror and have the opportunity to play it with a group of friends, thanks to still innovative gameplay and a total sense of immersion.

By HenryI’m a bit disappointed with the PlayStation 5 port of a beloved, overwhelmingly positive title on Steam. Phasmophobia not only contains some of the worst user navigation interfaces I’ve seen in a long time, but also a gameplay loop that isn’t well explained for newcomers to enjoy. Deep down inside, I know there’s fun to be had, but you have to be really patient with this one to find it.

By Ravi SinhaKinetic Games' Phasmophobia is a surprisingly scary experience, solo and with friends, though several features - like the lobby browser - need more work.
