Inspired by the SimCity series, Banished, and Stronghold, Kingdoms and Castles is a game about growing a kingdom from a tiny hamlet to a sprawling city and imposing castle. Your kingdom must survive a living and dangerous world. Do the viking raiders make off with your villagers? Or are they stopped, full of arrows, at the castle gates? Does a dragon torch your granary, your people dying of starvation in the winter, or are you able to turn the beast back? The success of your kingdom depends solely on your skill as a city and castle planner.

Critic Reviews
Worth Playing
By Phillip MoyerKingdoms and Castles is a solid effort, especially coming from such a small team. The game lacks longevity, but at $10, it may be worth picking up by those who enjoy base-building games but don't enjoy the difficulty and complexity that often comes with the genre.

By Marcello PerriconeA great little game with an amazing aesthetic, but with a lot of ways to grow.

ByFantastic little city builder to play for a few hours at a time. Generally lacking in content, but enjoyable nonetheless.

By Alexander ThomasKingdoms and Castles is a charming, relaxing, and easy to play real-time kingdom builder.
Gaming Nexus
By Dave GambleKingdoms and Castles is entering into a competitive genre and may struggle to get noticed, but the ease of play and nice balance between simplicity and complexity makes it worth taking a look at. Just be sure to consider what you're going to do when the Vikings come calling.
