Farming Simulator 25 is a logical continuation of the franchise. This opus offers improved visual management, new crops, animals and two new maps. With its GPS system, the series takes a big step towards accessibility, and tasks on our farm are much less tedious. Nevertheless, this edition doesn't reinvent the wheel, and series regulars may even feel that some new features are missing. Not to mention the fact that, even at the time of writing, there are still plenty of technical problems to contend with. The game remains a benchmark in the field, but may not be the revolution some players were expecting.

Farming Simulator remains an excellent experience. It’s educational, in that you’ll walk away with it with an appreciation for what farmers go through so you can eat.

Farming Simulator 25 is not a game for everyone, that's clear. It is a complex title, and only those who approach it with certain types of mentality will be able to survive its seasons.

Farming Simulator 25 talks a big game about the new features it has over previous iterations of the series. But those changes aren't quite big enough for me to recommend that you dive in right now. Give mods some time to catch up to the level they are in Farming Simulator 22, fix a couple of collision bugs I encountered, and maybe go on a sale, and then it's worth the upgrade. It runs well on the Steam Deck for the most part. The controls are great, and while performance in larger multiplayer games borders on unplayable, if you play solo or with a small group, it should run just fine.

Farming Simulator 25 makes some exciting improvements to AI and automation compared to its predecessors, making the game better in areas that it already excelled at, but it fails to ease the intimidating learning curve that's been in the franchise for a while.
